Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor Okey Bakassi has dismissed reports claiming that his marriage has collapsed. The rumours circulated online over the weekend, with claims that his wife had relocated to the United States to study nursing while he remained in Nigeria.
In a video shared on his social media accounts, Bakassi described the report as fake news intended to disrespect him and his family. He said the claims had prompted calls from friends, relatives and fans seeking to confirm whether the couple had separated.
The actor reassured the public that he and his wife were still together, stressing that his wife and children remained central to his life. He also noted that they had recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and urged friends, family and fans not to believe the false reports
