Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has announced that President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign will officially begin in Kaduna on October 24. Yari disclosed the plan on Friday after briefing the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, adding that the APC campaign council’s inaugural meeting is scheduled for October 14.
According to Yari, the campaign will move to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, Borno State, after the Kaduna launch. He said Tinubu had approved the proposed state visits and that the full campaign timetable would be released after the council’s inauguration.
Yari also expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances against opposition figures Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He argued that winning the presidency requires support across northern and southern Nigeria, while defending Tinubu’s record and saying his administration was already implementing changes rather than merely making promises.
