Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for responding to his request for federal assistance in tackling insecurity in the state. Mohammed said Tinubu intervened when bandit attacks had placed several communities under serious pressure, despite Bauchi being governed by an opposition party.
Speaking to journalists in Bauchi, the governor said the President deployed a high-level security operation involving the National Security Adviser, the military and other security agencies. Mohammed also said two military battalions had been established in Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa as part of efforts to strengthen security in the state.
Mohammed said the security intervention had helped residents who were displaced by insecurity return to their communities and resume farming activities. He described the federal response as an act of goodwill that the people of Bauchi would remember, while expressing gratitude to Tinubu for responding to his appeal.
