Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced plans to mobilise members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. He made the announcement on Monday at a Rainbow Coalition stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
The meeting brought together party chairmen, serving and former senators, National Assembly candidates and leaders from the FCT’s six area councils. Wike urged participants to put their shared political objective ahead of party affiliations and work together to support Tinubu and candidates contesting National Assembly seats in the FCT.
Wike said he would coordinate mobilisation efforts in the FCT and Rivers State, describing himself as the leader of field operations for the FCT election. He stressed that APC and PDP members should cooperate for the coalition’s stated electoral goals rather than allow party differences to divide them.
