Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has called out Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) over a ₦18,912 deduction from his account, which he said was taken as a service charge. Solade described the deduction as an “independence robbery” and questioned why almost ₦20,000 was removed from his account.

The 66-year-old actor said he has banked with GTBank since 1995 and asked other customers who may have experienced similar deductions to speak up. He also described the charges as “theft and oppression,” while GTBank had not publicly responded to his accusation as of the time of reporting.

Solade’s complaint comes weeks after he revealed that he was once paid as a student to participate in what he described as a staged healing miracle. He said he pretended to have a physical disability for the purported miracle and later spent the money he received on alcohol.
