United States President Donald Trump has threatened to veto legislation passed by Democrats following his Republican Party’s losses in the November 3 midterm elections. Democrats reportedly secured control of both the Senate and House of Representatives.

Trump issued the warning in a social media post featuring a red baseball cap with the word “VETO”. He said Democrats could send him several bills, but he would reject them. However, he added that he was willing to work with the opposition party on issues where both sides could reach an agreement.

The President also blamed rising petrol prices linked to the conflict involving Iran for some of the Republican Party’s electoral setbacks. Meanwhile, Democrats recorded victories in several states, including Kansas, Iowa, Texas and North Carolina, leaving Trump facing a Congress controlled by the opposition party.
