Gospel singer Esther Igbekele is set to hold the final burial ceremony for her late mother, Madam Mary Amope Kudirat Igbekele, on January 8, 2027, in Lagos. The event will take place at Victoria Garden Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.
The ceremony is expected to attract gospel music ministers, entertainers, prominent personalities, and other dignitaries. It will be the final burial celebration for her mother, who died at the age of 71.
Esther Igbekele had earlier joined other family members for activities marking her mother’s passage on October 1 and 2. She described the late matriarch as a strong source of support throughout her personal life and music career.
