The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has recounted how one of the engines of his aircraft failed shortly after takeoff while travelling to meet President Bola Tinubu for the first time in 2022.
Wike disclosed this during an interview on TVC, explaining that the incident occurred about 15 minutes after the aircraft took off. He said members of the cabin crew became nervous, prompting him to ask what was happening.
According to the minister, the air hostesses informed him that one of the engines had developed a fault, while the pilot later announced that they could not continue the journey. The aircraft subsequently returned after the technical problem.
