Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye earned praise from teammate Nicolò Zaniolo after saving a penalty in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw against Parma, ending the club’s six-match losing streak in Serie A.
Okoye denied Adrian Bernabé from the spot in the 69th minute, earning the Man of the Match award and his first Serie A clean sheet of the season. Zaniolo described him as a fantastic goalkeeper and credited him with helping Udinese secure a valuable away point.
He said the penalty save was instinctive and stressed that the team was already focused on its next match against Roma. Zaniolo also pointed to injuries and mistakes as factors behind Udinese’s difficult start to the season.
