Police operatives in Bauchi State have rescued an 18-year-old woman, Fatima Dalha, from an angry mob after she allegedly stabbed her 30-year-old husband during a domestic dispute in Lirr Bajar community, Dass Local Government Area. The incident occurred on October 25, following an argument over money, wrappers and a mobile phone.
According to the Bauchi State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, the disagreement escalated into a physical fight, during which Fatima allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach. The injured man was rushed to a hospital for treatment, while police officers intervened to prevent residents from lynching the suspect.
The police said Fatima had been detained and the knife allegedly used in the attack recovered. The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu urged couples to resolve disputes peacefully and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.
