Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has asked the State House of Assembly to approve the reappointment of three commissioners who served during his first term. He also sought lawmakers’ approval to appoint 10 Special Advisers to support his administration, according to a letter sent to Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye on Monday, October 26, 2026.
The governor nominated Senior Advocate of Nigeria Dayo Apata to continue as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Akintunde Oyebode as Commissioner for Finance, and Oyebanji Filani as Commissioner for Health and Human Services. All three officials held the same positions during Oyebanji’s first term in office.
The request follows the appointment of four officials to support key sectors of the state’s economy. Philip Atere was named Technical Adviser on Power Infrastructure, Tope Fatukasi as Technical Adviser on Road Infrastructure, retired Air Vice Marshal Sunday Makinde as Technical Adviser on Airport matters, and Tajudeen Alingbolu as Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency. The government said the appointments take immediate effect.
