Nigerian comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against people linking them to the death of gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings. Woli Agba announced the warning in a public notice shared on Instagram on Sunday.
In a statement issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians described the allegations circulating online as false, baseless and defamatory. They warned that anyone who creates, publishes or shares such content could face legal consequences for damaging their reputations.
The solicitors said their clients reserved the right to pursue legal action, including claims for damages and court orders to stop further publication. They also urged social media users and media platforms to verify information before sharing allegations concerning the gospel minister’s death.
