Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has said he would rather go to prison than give up his mobile phone, describing it as essential to his daily communication. He made the remark in Lagos while presenting his Vision 2030 plan to accelerate industrialisation across Africa.
Dangote was asked to choose between spending seven days without his phone or losing access to his private jet for the same period. He said being without his phone would be far more difficult, revealing that it contains more than 13,000 contacts accumulated over the years.
The Dangote Group chairman explained that he rarely blocks people, which has contributed to the size of his contact list. His business interests span cement, fertiliser, manufacturing and petroleum refining, among other sectors.
