Kylian Mbappé has become the youngest player to reach 100 appearances in the UEFA Champions League. The Real Madrid forward achieved the milestone at 27 years and 298 days during his team’s 4-3 victory over Roma on October 14, 2026, surpassing Lionel Messi’s previous record of 28 years and 84 days.
Mbappé marked the occasion by scoring an equaliser after Marten de Roon had put Roma ahead. Despite falling behind 3-1 following two goals from Donyell Malen, Real Madrid mounted a late comeback, with Carlos Espí and Endrick scoring before Antonio Rüdiger netted the winning goal in the 90th minute. Mbappé made his Champions League debut for Monaco in September 2016 and finished as the competition’s top scorer last season with 15 goals.
Elsewhere, Liverpool bounced back from their 3-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City by recording a 6-3 victory over LASK in Austria. Bradley Barcola scored a hat-trick, while Ronald Araújo and Jeremie Frimpong also found the net for Liverpool in an attacking performance that helped the team return to winning ways.
