President Bola Tinubu has indicated that he may not attend campaign rallies in every state ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at Aso Rock, Abuja, on Wednesday, Tinubu cited Nigeria’s financial obligations as a reason he might not visit every location.
“You will excuse me from going everywhere with you. We have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait,” the president said, suggesting that his campaign schedule may be limited by the country’s financial commitments.
Meanwhile, Senate President Godswill Akpabio said The president would run a unity government if re-elected in 2027. Reacting to the inclusion of opposition members in the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Akpabio described the arrangement as historic and said it reflected a commitment to political cooperation. He also congratulated Tinubu, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and leaders of the participating political parties.
