Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has warned Galatasaray that Barcelona’s quality makes their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash a difficult challenge. The Nigerian forward said he was excited about the encounter but stressed that the Turkish champions must prepare carefully for the Spanish side’s talented squad.
Osimhen returned from a groin injury during Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Kasımpaşa, coming off the bench to assist Mario Lemina’s stoppage-time goal. Abdülkerim Bardakcı and Barış Alper Yılmaz also scored for Galatasaray, who played with 10 men after Lucas Torreira was sent off in the second half.
Galatasaray will aim to recover from their opening 3-1 Champions League defeat to Sporting CP, while Barcelona enter the contest after a 5-1 win over Feyenoord. Osimhen has faced Barcelona before, scoring for Napoli in a 1-1 draw during their 2024 round-of-16 first leg, although Napoli were eliminated after losing the return match 3-1.
