Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has revealed that she sought therapy after playing a broken wife in the movie When Tables Turn, as the role forced her to revisit painful experiences from her failed marriage. In an interview with Punch, she explained that the emotional impact of the character affected her mental health more than she expected.
Etinosa said the experience was particularly difficult because she was also the film’s director, requiring her to move from emotionally intense scenes to directing the next sequence. She also recalled that playing a witch in the television series Blood of Enogie for months affected her deeply, making it necessary to seek help in dealing with some of her characters.
The actress further revealed that writing Osato brought her to tears on several occasions because she connected deeply with the character’s suffering. Despite the emotional demands of acting and screenwriting, Etinosa said she loves both professions and would not trade them for another career.
