Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo’s conduct and public statement following his reported sudden departure from Portugal’s national team. Speaking on The Overlap, Neville said he was disappointed with the forward’s actions, despite his admiration for Ronaldo’s achievements in football.
Ronaldo reportedly left the squad after a disagreement involving coach Jorge Jesus and expressed frustration over being left out of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League fixture against Norway. In his statement, the forward accused the manager of failing to honour previous promises, while explaining his decision to withdraw from the team.
Gary Neville said the controversy could affect how some fans view Ronaldo, although he believes the player’s remarkable football career will ultimately remain his lasting legacy. Ronaldo later apologised to his teammates and the Portuguese public, saying he was prepared to accept any disciplinary measures while insisting he was not retiring from international football. Reports of a suspension have emerged, but its duration and the details of any further action remain unclear.

Is it not better to retire honourable that’s why I will always pick Messi over you a hundred time…..it’s far beyond just the talent/skill/achievement it’s more of morals, lifestyle, habits, relationship, team spirit, an ability to uplift others…..Ronaldo lacks some of these stuffs but I respect him though
