People. Culture. Now.
POPULAR1 is a digital publication covering the stories, people and ideas shaping contemporary Nigerian and African culture.
We publish timely news, entertainment, music, film and television coverage, cultural reporting, original interviews and useful explainers. Our aim is to make every story clear, relevant and worth your time.
Our approach
We value accuracy, context, originality and fairness. We distinguish reporting from opinion and sponsored content, correct material errors transparently, and credit the people and sources that make our work possible.
